Catalyst Track: Change Makers // Day One
“By your spirit I will rise, from the ashes of defeat
The resurrected king is resurrecting me
In your name I come alive, to declare your victory
The resurrected king is resurrecting me”
These are lyrics to the song “Resurrecting” by Elevation Worship.
It’s Holy Week this week. It’s the time when we await the resurrection of our glorious savior Jesus, who died ingloriously on a cross.
And with his resurrection comes the opportunity for our resurrection, our transformation, our change.
This week’s track features stories of this transformational change – individual change and community change. Over the next few days, hear personal stories from Justin & Trisha Davis, Hannah Brencher and the Huangs with San Francisco City Impact on what change has looked like in their lives.
What will your story of change be? If you’re ready to find out, complete the challenges at the end of each day.
DAY 1: Justin & Trisha Davis
Sometimes, when you work in ministry, it’s easy to believe that you have to have all of life figured out. Work, friends, marriage – these are all things you should have mastered, right?
Despite years in ministry, despite all the “right external safeguards,” Justin and Trisha Davis found their marriage and their understanding of God severely shaken.
But what got them moving forward on their path of transformational change, was understanding that it wasn’t ministry that destroyed their marriage—it was who they had become as individuals.
REFLECT:
Take a few minutes today to do an evaluation of your life. Write down the character traits that define you. Write down the character traits you want to define you. What in your life needs transformational change?
