DAY 2: Learning Through Failure

Failure is often something understood as something to be feared. But does it have to be?

In this video, Craig and Andy are asked: If you’re embracing ideas from another church and it doesn’t work, how do you recover from that and not let a defensive mindset set in?

Andy and Craig reframe failure not as something to be feared, but rather as something to be understood in the context of a bigger vision and as an indication of innovation.

REFLECT: Answer poll below.

What is your organization’s attitude toward failure?

  1. We avoid risks so as to avoid failure
  2. There are large repercussions for failure
  3. We have a hard time learning from failure
  4. We actively recognize failure as important to growth
