Catalyst Track: The Heist // Day Three

This video track comes from a conversation between Chris Durso and Erwin McManus about Chris’ new book, The Heist.

What if we began to see Jesus’ death and resurrection as “the greatest cat-burglary in human history?” Because while onlookers thought he was just “being crucified, he was actually decimating our chains of shame and robbing hell of its captives.”

Erwin asks, has there ever been a greater crime committed?

In this three-day track, Chris and Erwin talk about how Jesus’ “crime” not only frees us of our shame, but allows the shame of past experiences to strengthen us in our contexts today.

Are you ready for a fresh perspective on the grace extended to you and victory won for you? Are you ready to cast off the chains of shame that hinder your leadership and relationships? If so, take time this week to dive into this track and complete the reflection and challenge questions at the end of each day.

Day 3 – Wisdom for Today

What would you say to the person who discredits what they know or their past experiences?

Erwin challenges leaders with this thought – wisdom is not what you go through. Wisdom is the choices you make as a result. He points to Rahab’s experience - a prostitute who then made a choice that dramatically shifted the course of her future - to show how we don’t have to live in our past anymore!

CHALLENGE:

Think about choices that lie ahead of you - maybe choices for today or ones that will affect long-term direction. How will you allow the grace and victory Jesus has won for you to influence those decisions? Share your answer in the comments below.
