Life Won’t Wait on the Wounded pt.3

Time Helps, but Jesus Heals
You can take the right steps. You can follow the right advice, but in order to find the ultimate peace and joy that you’re looking for, you need Jesus. Friends help. Belief helps. Time helps. But Jesus heals.http://ctt.ec/0TcjU+ @richwilkersonjr" src="http://clicktotweet.com/img/bg-twitter.png" />
The Bible says that God is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. He specializes in fixing broken things. In fact, brokenness is a prerequisite to knowing God. After all, it’s hard to fix something that’s not broken, isn’t it?
One of the things I love about Jesus is simply that he understands us. His own heart was broken. He was betrayed by one of his disciples. He was rejected by almost all of the people he came to save. He was plagued with temptation in all the ways we are.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15
We have a high priest, Jesus, who has been tempted just like us. He knows what it’s like. He knows your pain, and not just on an intellectual level. He doesn’t just know about your pain. He knows your pain. He experienced it himself. He knows exactly how you feel, and on the cross, he spread out his arms to show you just how much he loves you. With all your wounds, in all your pain, Jesus loves you, and he wants to help you get to places you never dreamed were possible.
