DAY 4: A New Name
Don't have the money to buy the perfect clothes you want? Charge them to your credit card. Your name is Not Enough.
Don't have what they have? Gossip about them until you feel better about yourself. Your name is Bitter Envy.
Don’t have the perfect marriage to the perfect person? Download some porn. Your name is Justified Addict.
Don’t like looking at yourself in the mirror? Buy some diet pills or get liposuction. Your name is Ugly.
Don’t have a way to relax? Have five glasses of wine. Why stop at one? Your name is All Alone.
Above any name given to us, by ourselves or others, the name we must never forget is Child of God.
As children of the one true God, there is no power, stronghold,or addiction that can overtake us.
He is in our past, with us in the present, and orchestrating our future. The moment we forget who we are, we find ourselves bowing down to little gods with no power to transform us.
Challenge: Think of a “name” that either you or others have given you. How does your real name –Child of God – change this name? How does this affect your subsequent actions and attitudes moving forward?
