Marathon Part. 2

Reprove and Rebuke, two of the least popular words in our culture today, and yet as leaders we must be willing to step into uncomfortable conversations when the time comes. 

It's how we act in these moments that will set us apart from the rest of the world, after all our families, churches, and even culture will listen most when they are approached with love, patience, and teaching; even in the midst of a difficult conversation. Our responsibility as leaders is not to police the world, checking in on the people around us with hopes of catching them in wrongful acts, but to simply be prepared both biblically and spiritually to step into the fray when we find ourselves face to face with someone who is hurting. 

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 4:1-5
