Don't let suffering surprise you.

In the long run of ministry there will be moments where you simply need to endure. But we can take heart knowing that these moments do not surprise God. God's not waiting for the storm to pass, He's in it with you, working despite and in light of it. Great leaders do not fear suffering, not out of arrogance or idealism, but out of the belief that God is enough in any and every circumstance.
