I think it's important for churches and Christian organizations to realize that often times people who are different have to change who they are to fit into our culturally conditioned boxes. 

Instead of working harder, smarter, or more efficiently, God tells us to stop.  That is what Sabbath means:  to stop, to cease.  One day in seven, we need to come to rest. But what is “rest”?

My whole approach came out as harsh and critical and judgmental and condemning. When I preached, I would get up and read these lists of what God’s for and what He’s against. I just had a different spirit. I would preach down to people, like I had it together and they didn’t. Then I started this church and got around real unchurched people and thought, “Man, I’m condemning them.” I’m not the Holy Spirit. I teach truth, but I want to do it in love and grace.
